Avilés is located in the centre of the coastal strip of the Principality of Asturias, to the west of Cape Peñas, on the banks of the estuary that bears its name. A walk through the arcades of its ancient streets, protected from the sun or rain, provides the pleasant opportunity to discover the Avilés that takes us back to other times. With the inauguration of the Oscar Niemeyer Cultural Center, Avilés has experienced a new impulse that can easily be observed.
